Deepen Your Intuition

Have you ever walked into a place and things felt “off”? Maybe you’ve met up with a friend and could tell something was wrong before they spoke? We all are born with the innate ability to sense and read situations, people, and places, and this gift is intuition. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. We are all connected to each other and to Source, and can tune in to our innate, intuitive nature anytime we choose. Unfortunately, years of denying and ignoring our intuition can make it difficult to access and/or believe it, but intuition is like a muscle - the more you use it the stronger it becomes.

See below for ways to build up your intuitive powers, but first, I wanted to share just a few ways that strong intuition can improve your life:

  • Easier Decision-Making: Trusting your instincts helps you to make decisions without overthinking or analysis paralysis. This is especially useful when time is limited or you lack all the information.

  • Heightened Self-Awareness: The only way to lead an authentic life is to become more attuned to your inner voice and what truly matters to you. Listening to your intuition can help you have a greater understanding of your values and desires and make decisions that support who you are.

  • Improved Health and Wellness: When you listen to your body’s signals and your inner knowing, you make healthier choices. Whether it’s prioritizing self-care, or eating so you feel your best, intuition can guide you toward optimum physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Since all these things and more are improved through intuition, you may be wondering how you can build yours back up again. Here are my top three ways:

1. The most important thing to do is start trusting it! Pay attention to the way you’re guided. Maybe it comes with the first thought in your head. It could be a feeling or a sensation in your body. The more mindful you are, the more your intuition strengthens.

2. Practice mindfulness. This can be done anytime, anywhere, in a more formal meditation practice, or both. Try driving without the radio, washing the dishes without doing anything else, or going for a walk paying attention to nature. Use your senses and be mindful every chance you get.

3. Utilize "Morning Pages." Try writing 2-3 pages in a notebook when you first wake up in the morning. Doing something creative when your ego-mind hasn’t fully awakened can help you tap into what your soul really wants. Even if all you write is, “this is dumb, I can’t think of what to write,” keep going. Over time, your mind will allow more creativity and more intuition to come through on the pages.

I hope you are inspired to build your intuition; I believe it’s truly the best way to have a soul-led life full of contentment.
