Because typical resolutions are inherently flawed, most of us don't stick to our New Year's Resolutions for more than a few weeks. When we try to use willpower to get what we want, or avoid what we don't, the constant battle to reach a goal is exhausting. What if there was a better way? The yoga practice of using a sankalpa, or resolve, helps us to plant the seed of intention deep into our subconscious mind serving as a catalyst for personal transformation. The battle for change that we may feel with a typical resolution is replaced by a deep inner knowing that subtle changes are already happening beyond our conscious mind. As we repeat our sankalpa during deep relaxation, we allow the seed to bear many fruits. In this course, you will first learn how to uncover the sankalpa that serves you best at this point in time. Then you will repeat your sankalpa during deep, guided meditation, also known as Yoga Nidra. Each class will begin with warming and opening the body through gentle yoga asana followed by 30-45 minutes of lying down for Yoga Nidra.
